Tamarind & Co. is hiring. We are a family-run Indian restaurant at 1275 South River Road in Cranbury, NJ, cooking from scratch for our dining room, pickup orders and catering — and we're looking for people who care about food and guests as much as we do.
Head Chef: lead our kitchen — the team, the standards and every plate that leaves the pass. You'll lead, schedule and train the kitchen team, own the quality of every dish, keep a clean and safe kitchen, plan ordering and food cost with the owner, and shape specials, festival menus and catering with us. Experience leading a busy professional kitchen is needed; Indian cuisine is strongly preferred.
Tandoor Chef: master of the clay oven. You'll cook tandoori chicken, tikkas, kebabs, paneer and seafood to order, and make our naan, kulcha and roti fresh through service. Proven tandoor experience in a restaurant kitchen is needed.
Biryani Chef: our dum biryani is what guests drive in for. You'll cook chicken, goat, shrimp, egg and vegetable biryani from scratch, layered and sealed, and keep the taste the same from a single plate to a catering batch. Hands-on dum biryani experience is needed.
Front-of-House Server, full-time or part-time: be the welcome. You'll greet and seat guests, guide them through the menu, spice levels and allergies, serve with care and pour the wine our guests bring (we're BYOB). Restaurant experience is a plus — we'll train the right person.
