Baby showers, engagements and family functions

A godh bharai or a roka is a house full of relatives for an afternoon. The food has to suit the grandparents and the cousins' children at once, and still be good at three o'clock.

A menu for three generations

Build around dishes that hold: a paneer gravy and a dal, a chicken curry if the family eats meat, a biryani, rice and naan. Add one fried appetizer for the arrival rush and two desserts. Tell us how hot the family likes it and we set the spice for your guests.

Pure vegetarian is standard, and we cook without onion and garlic on request. Jain requirements can be met with notice. See pooja catering if the function includes a puja.

How much to order

Trays serve 10 to 12, 20 to 25 or 30 to 35, with appetizers from $85 and entrées from $90. Naan and desserts are priced per piece, so the count stays exact; gulab jamun and rasmalai travel best. The catering page suggests every course for your guest count plus 10%.

Timing and delivery

Order at least 48 hours ahead, and earlier for a weekend. Delivery covers Cranbury, Monroe Township, South Brunswick, Plainsboro, the Windsors, Princeton and out into Monmouth County.

How much food do we need for 40 guests?

For a full meal, plan one appetizer tray, two entrée trays and one biryani or rice tray for every 20–25 guests, with bread and desserts per head. For 40, double that. The catering page works it out for your count plus 10%.

Can the food be fully vegetarian?

Yes. Pure vegetarian is standard, without onion and garlic on request, and Jain with notice.

How early should we order?

At least 48 hours before, and earlier for a weekend function.
