Monroe Township is our largest neighbor, and on most evenings a good part of the dining room has driven in from it.
A short drive up the road
From the neighborhoods along Applegarth Road, Route 33 or the Turnpike 8A corridor, Cranbury is the next town over — no highway epic, no parking garage. We are at 1275 South River Road where Route 130 meets South River Road, with free on-site parking and accessible spaces at the door.
That proximity changes how people use us. Monroe families treat Tamarind & Co. as a weeknight restaurant rather than an occasion one: an early dinner after the kids' practice, a lunch box at 1:00 pm, a bag of pickup on the way home.
What Monroe tables order
The 55-plus communities send tables that know their food and say so — Dal Makhni, bhindi do pyaza, a paneer dish and hot rotis, ordered mild and precise. Younger families lean on the tandoor: Mixed Platter, malai tikka, butter chicken for the children, and one Chettinad chicken for whoever wants heat. Vegetarian and Jain-friendly requests are routine; tell us at the table and the kitchen will work around them.
We are BYOB, so the bottle from the shop up the road is welcome. Browse the full menu first, or reserve a table online and let us hold the corner booth.
Community events and catering
Monroe throws a lot of parties — housewarmings, poojas, retirement dinners, graduation lunches. Our trays come in three sizes (serving roughly 10–12, 20–25 and 30–35 guests) across vegetarian, chicken, goat and lamb, biryani, noodles, breads and desserts. Live tandoor and chaat counters travel too, when you want the cooking to happen in front of your guests.
Give us 48 hours for a large order — more for weddings — and call (732) 466-1345 to plan quantities. Details and per-tray pricing are on the catering page, and this guide walks through how to size an order.
